The Santa Barbara Smokehouse, Inc., of Santa Barbara, California, is voluntarily recalling a number of brands and batches of cold smoked salmon produced and packaged between December 17th and December 24th, 2014, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes. This organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
If you believe you have purchased salmon which might have been processed by the Santa Barbara Smokehouse, visit the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for more package labels and batch numbers.
